Plantronics describes the headset as “designed for people whose work demands that they are connected to their computer or smartphone”. Specifically, these devices must be equipped with a headphone jack and a USB-A or USB-C port to work with the device.

Alike their predecessor, this headset line is tailored for the home-office and mobile office worker. That’s why Blackwire headsets are optimized for popular UC software, specifically Cisco Jabber, Microsoft Skype for Business, and Microsoft Team. The headset is also compatible with Plantronics Manager Pro, for managing larger projects. The entire Blackwire family now includes inline indicator lights, wideband audio, noise-cancelling microphones, and ‘Dynamic EQ’, which automatically adjusts audio settings depending on your usage.

Blackwire 3200

The 3200 is offered in a couple different versions. One version features foam ear cushions, fixed speakers and an adjustable headband. The more expensive version comes with ultra-soft leatherette ear cushions, folding speakers, and a carrying case.

Blackwire 5200

Specific to the higher-end 5200 version are a number of premium features. These include passive noise cancelling, a redesigned headband, folding ultra-soft leatherette ear cushions, a carrying case, and in-ear alerts for when you try to speak whilst on mute (how has nobody done this yet!?). Additionally, the 5200 comes equipped with SoundGuard Digital technology for acoustic protection. SoundGuard allows you to set daily dBA limits to preserve your hearing, should you choose to enable this feature.

The Blackwire 5200 and 3200 are offered in Monaural Mono and Binaural Stereo configurations. The 5200s are available now from authorized Plantronics resellers. The 3200s will be available in January of 2018, according to Plantronics.

Plantronic updates Blackwire 5200 & announces 3200 Plantronics has updated their popular […]

[1
